Depression and Physical Health Problems

Devon and Torbay pathfinder project is a collaboration between GP commissioners, the University of Exeter Mood Disorders Centre, Peninsula Medical School and Devon Partnership Mental Health Trust.

Project Overview

The project has three interlinking aims

• To evaluate the impact of an intensive training course for psychological wellbeing practitioners (PWPs) in working with MUS and long term conditions
• To create and evaluate a collaborative care approach in primary care underpinned by the training course
• To improve identification of people with MUS and long term conditions who could benefit from psychological interventions within the practices involved in the collaborative care training.
